New Documents to Prove Identity for Fingerprinting

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) has created a list of acceptable documents applicants must provide to the enrollment officer when attending a fingerprinting appointment with MorphoTrust. The applicant can choose one of the following documents to provide proof of identity:

  • Driver’s License issued by a State or outlying possession of the U.S.
  • Commercial Driver’s License issued by a State or outlying possession of the U.S.
  • Driver’s License PERMIT issued by a State or outlying possession of the U.S.
  • Commercial Driver’s License PERMIT issued by a State or trying possession of the U.S.
  • State ID Card (or outlying possession of the U.S.) with a seal or logo from a State or State agency
  • Federal ID Card with a seal or logo from a Federal Agency
  • Passport Book or Card
  • Permanent Resident Card / Green Card (I-551)
  • Enhanced Tribal ID Cards
  • Foreign Passports
  • Temporary Paper Licenses issued by the state of Texas

What does this mean to you as a current foster parent, or a future Faith Works! foster parent?

Well, standards states that anyone living within the home that is 14+ in age, must obtain a fingerprint on record for safety of the youth being placed within the home. Since this must be completed by the exact 14th birthdate, we run a fingerprint 90 days prior to.

Before, we could have this happen swiftly without any other effort besides us as an agency scheduling the fingerprint for you, and you taking your biological child (or whomever this applies to,) to complete the fingerprint immediately after.

Now what is new is that all applicants for a fingerprint MUST provide one of the following documents stated above in the bulleted list, to even complete a fingerprint. Thing is, someone who is 14 can not have a driver’s permit, driver’s license, or may rarely have a passport or any of the other bullets listed except for a State ID. A State ID can luckily be obtained at any age.

This is important because, for a current foster parent to remain complaint, or for a future foster parent to even begin fostering, everyone within the home that is 14+ MUST obtain a fingerprint.

Thankfully you want to remain a compliant Faith Works! foster parent, or become a future Faith Works! complaint foster parent.

Because you desire to be compliant so much, this means that if you currently have a 13-year-old biological child, you will contact Faith Works! upon reading this. You may contact either your current Case Manager, Home Developer, CEO, COO, Marketing Director, Receptionist, or anyone within the company to help you stay complaint. But it would probably be best if you directly contact Adrianna Hernandez, who handles the fingerprinting for our agency. It is best to get in contact with Adrianna by e-mailing her at AdriannaHernandez@FaithWorksInc.Us. Or you may call our offices at (972) 293-2500, and ask to speak to her regarding the new documents to prove identity for fingerprinting.

If this applies to you, you can take one step ahead by obtaining a State ID for your 13-year-old prior to contacting Adrianna Hernandez. You can obtain an ID by providing two forms of ID being either a social security card, birth certificate, school records, or Medicaid ID.

Once the State ID has been obtained, please then ask Adrianna Hernandez to schedule your 13-year-old for fingerprinting that MUST be completed by their birthdate.
